At Rag & Bones, the whole operation is managed and carried out by a small group of core volunteers, and an army friends who help out on a walk-in basis. We are always looking for help running the space. If you’re interested in volunteering just submit the form below and we’ll get back to you about our next new volunteer training.
Note that we now have 3 core roles to fill:
✮ Bike Mechanic: In this role you help run the DIY bike shop space. This means learning mechanical skills, helping us build affordable bikes, talking to community members seeking knowledge and repairs, sales of bikes, parts and accessories.
✮ Community Space Shopkeep: In this role you help with greetings folks as they come into the shop, recommending books and zines, talking about featured art or locally made items, carrying out sales at the register, and helping shelve books or zines. You will be able to sell new bike products and complete bikes.
✮ Weekend Events Crew: In this role you help us run weekend evening events, or daytime markets, book discussions and more. You can help with organizing events, running door during the evening, talking to performers and doing sound, or just generally helping out on crew.

NO experience is necessary, just an interest in bikes, books, collective work and community health. If you have other skills that don’t fit the roles above, please note them in the form. If you have any questions reach out to info@ragandbonesrva.org
